How do I get my Taurus Urbe?

  • Local pick-up or shipping is available. Pick-up is at our local headquarters in Durham, NC and shipping is calculated at check-out. We use all major carriers (USPS, FedEx, UPS) so just pick which option you want.

How long will it take to arrive?

  • That depends on where you're shipping to, but we do our best to fulfill orders same day, but please allow up to 3 days to be boxed up and shipped out. Then delivery will depend on the carrier. You will receive a tracking number at checkout.

Why are there multiple shipments for my items?

  • We carefully package each bundle in a specially-designed box to avoid any bottle breakage during transit, meaning each item is shipped in its own package. So if you order a 3-pack and a t-shirts, you're going to get 2 separate packages. But don't worry--all items will have its own tracking info!

When can I pick up my order if I choose local pick-up?

  • If you opt for local pick-up, you will receive a notification when the order is ready to be picked up at our local site. We may ask for up to 3 days to be packaged up and set out in our pick-up kiosk, but it will likely be sooner and you will receive a notification when it is ready for pick-up.

Our kiosk is open 24-7 for pick-up. We ask all orders be picked up within 1 week. The system is similar to ordering carry-out at a restaurant. We have a dedicated shelf at the address with labeled parcels for each order. Look for your name and pick up your hot sauce!

How long will my bottle last?

  • We recommend using your Taurus Urbe Smoked Habanero Table Sauce within one year of bottling for best flavor, but it will last much longer. Please note, spice level increases as it ages.

As an acidified food, the hot sauce is shelf stable. The vinegar and lime juice and capsaicin from the peppers act as natural preservatives. All vegetable ingredients are smoked, which is another form of preservative. 

Does it need to be refrigerated?

  • No. This is a personal preference thing. Some people put their condiment bottles in the fridge, but it will keep if you leave it out.

How hot is this sauce?

  • We consider our sauce to be medium heat. It's not going to burn your backside, but it has more kick than that other famous sauce from North Carolina (and a lot more flavor!)
